RealParts was founded by Bob Lyons and Ken Weiss in February 2008 to provide the U.S. collision repair industry and global buyer a better recycled parts alternative.

Conversations with repairers and rebuilders revealed tremendous frustration with an industry growing more and more reliant on flawed online inventory and database products. Grandiose promises were never realized and buyers did not trust the accuracy, detail or currency of the information provided.

Something better was needed! There could be no limitations to what parts [both crash and mechanical] could be described and the extent of detail communicated. The information had to be confirmed in absolute terms for availability, condition, price and delivery. The ability to easily source multiple parts simultaneously from individual recyclers was critical as was the shop's ability to provide instant feedback with regard to any recycler's performance.

RealParts was created specifically to better the repairer/rebuilder's parts sourcing experience! RealParts is intended also to support both a lean repair environment and a more efficient repair plan!
